Not-so-good self-portrait of Crazy Me, missing the red wound in my nose
Am I going crazy? Some may answer that question, “No, you’ve already gone crazy!” If that is true, then I do not remember the trip.
Two incidents occurred on the 504 King Streetcar, which travels west on King Street and north on Roncesvalles Avenue. Roncesvalles Avenue runs into Dundas Street West, and the 504 King Streetcar turns around at the Dundas West subway station at Dundas Street West and Bloor Street. The streetcar then travels south on Dundas West/Roncesvalles and east on King Street.
(An anal-retentive-maybe-crazy person provided the above information.)
Several weeks ago, I boarded the 504 King Streetcar as it was heading northbound on Roncesvalles Avenue en route to the Dundas West subway station. A man was sitting opposite me. He resembled a friend of mine. Gray hair sprinkled his dark hair and beard. He wore dark clothing. His black leather running shoes had 1992 in gold across the toes. I had never seen shoes like that before.
When I got up to get off at Dundas and Bloor, he got up and stood behind me as if waiting to get off. The streetcar was about to stop. I could feel him standing behind me. Suddenly, I no longer felt his presence. I looked behind me, and he was gone! I looked up and down the streetcar and watched the people exit from all the doors. He was not there! He disappeared while standing behind me!
The second incident happened about a week ago. I boarded the 504 King Streetcar at the Dundas West subway station. The streetcar travelled south on Dundas West/Roncesvalles Avenue.
A woman sat opposite me. I think she was wearing a beige coat, but I do not remember much more about her.
The streetcar was moving. I momentarily looked down into my shopping bag, and this woman was gone when I looked up! If she had gotten up, then I would have seen her get up with my peripheral vision. I looked up and down the still-moving streetcar. She was nowhere to be seen!
Time travellers? Angels? Ghosts? Or is Gary Johnston going bananas?
